1. About these terms
These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MarineAware websites at marineaware.com and live.marineaware.com (together, the “Sites”). By accessing or using the Sites you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Sites.
2. About us
The Sites are operated by MarineAware, an AI-native maritime analytics firm. You can contact us at contact@marineaware.com.
3. Use of the Sites
The Sites and their content are provided for general information about our services and methods. You may use the Sites only for lawful purposes. You agree not to: use the Sites in any way that breaches applicable law; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Sites or their systems; introduce malicious code; or scrape, harvest or place unreasonable load on the Sites or their underlying services.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the Sites — including text, design, graphics and logos — is owned by or licensed to MarineAware and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and use it for your own reference, but you may not reproduce, republish or exploit a substantial part without our prior written permission. Third-party datasets and imagery displayed on the Sites (for example from Copernicus, NASA, Global Fishing Watch, AISStream and Open-Meteo) remain the property of their respective providers and are used under their applicable licences and attribution terms.
5. The MarineAware Live demonstrator — important disclaimer
live.marineaware.com is a public, open-data demonstrator. Its risk scores, narratives, vessel positions, imagery, timelines and other outputs are provided “as is”, for illustration only, and are derived from third-party open sources that may be incomplete, delayed, sampled, rate-limited or inaccurate. Nothing on the demonstrator is navigational, operational, safety, legal, regulatory, financial or investment advice, and it must not be relied upon for any operational, navigational, compliance, trading or other decision. Any machine-generated narrative may contain errors. Operational intelligence is delivered only under a separate written engagement using appropriate, licensed data.
6. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Sites and their content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
7. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Subject to that, we shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or reliance on, the Sites or their content.
8. Links to third-party sites
The Sites may link to third-party websites and resources. We provide these for convenience and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
9. Consulting and analytics services
Any engagement for consulting, analytics or other professional services is governed by a separate written agreement between you and MarineAware. These Terms govern use of the Sites only and do not create any such engagement.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the latest revision, and your continued use of the Sites after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute or claim.
